Inspection is the inspection and control of the goods or their characteristics by the inspector company and by the buyer. Buyers can often not be present at the source for many reasons and this is not economically feasible and even often the buyer is unable to evaluate the quality of the goods. Undertakes and does these things by receiving a commission.
Initially, inspection companies acted solely as representative of the buyer, ensuring that the quality, quantity and price of the goods were adequate. But now these companies are also examining the mandatory standard requirements of the commodities and are in fact part of the mission of the standard institute to ensure that the commodity traded is in compliance with acceptable standards.
